Michigan Bow Hunters Association is proud to support our youth members from around the state of Michigan with a cash scholarship to further their education. We will provide two $500.00 scholarships each calendar year, which will be awarded at our annual general membership meeting which is currently held at the Rendezvous and Fred Bear Memorial Shoot in Harrison in July. One scholarship will be awarded to a high school or current college student who will be attending a junior or four year college/university in the fall of the current year. The second scholarship will be awarded to a student who will be attending a trade school.

- The student receiving the scholarship must be a member (family or youth membership) for no less than five consecutive years and be in good standing, without any game violations.
- The student must be able to show registration for their college/university/trade school before payment is given to the recipient.
- Student must be 26 years old or younger.
- Preference will be given to applicants that are active with the organization, such as participants in our statewide shoots, attending banquets, submitting content for the MBH News, or providing volunteer hours at district events.
- The application period will be from January 1- May 1 of each year. Students must complete the Application Form no later than May 1, to be considered.
Process:
- Decisions will be made by a selection committee. This committee will be chaired by the Past President and have four other participating members.
- Applications will be provided electronically to the selection committee to review following the end of the application process.
- An in person or virtual meeting will be set for the selection committee before June 15, to discuss the applications, and to select one winner for the college/university and one winner for trade school.
- If we do not have any applicants that meet the qualifications, we are not required to pay out one or both scholarships for that year. This does not increase the amount for the following year.
- $500.00 check will be provided to each recipient in August (upon proof of registration) and can be used however the recipient sees fit (examples: books, tuition, meal plan, room & board).
- An applicant may apply as many times as they wish, but will only be awarded a scholarship once. We would encourage someone to apply again the next year if they are not chosen the first time.
