My name is
John Sullivan, and I am
the
District 12 Governor.
I am a resident of Afton, Michigan in Cheboygan County. I
am retired and my wife, Linda and I have relocated here
permanently.
I have been an avid bowhunter since my
first trip in 1960. I was 10 and my dad and uncle pulled
me out of school to bowhunt. They armed me with a
slingshot that first year, but it began a long trend.
Over the years I have used both compound and traditional
equipment and at this stage I use traditional
exclusively. I have hunted around the country and Canada.
District 12 is the newest of the districts
in the organization. We only have about 50 active members
in the district which includes Alpena, Antrim, Charlevoix,
Cheboygan, Emmet, Montmorency, Otsego, and Presque Isle
counties.
I have been very active in legislative
events, primarily keeping a close eye on license fees and
coalition building to prepare for anti-hunting
initiatives.
