District 1 is a
very distinct and special district it is composed of all
out of state hunters. I feel especially proud to be the
Governor. Members of District 1 are scattered throughout
the world, but have a link to the Great State of Michigan.
Most state
bow hunting organizations make no provision to represent
out of state hunters. The founders of MBH saw the value
and had the wisdom to seek out this valuable resource. MBH
appreciates and respects the views of all its members. It
also allows you to have a voice through me, to bring your
concerns to the MBH Board of Governors.
Bow hunting
across the country is under assault as many of you are
aware. The biggest challenge we are facing here in
Michigan is the introduction of the crossbow.
MBH is NOT
opposed to crossbow use for the physically challenged
hunter. Never has been, never will be. MBH is opposed to
the use of the crossbow into archery season. Currently
crossbows may be used by the general population during the
November firearms season. MBH feels this is were the
crossbow belongs and were it should remain.
I have been
a member of MBH for about 15 years and have been actively
involved for about 7 years. I appreciate all of my members
and the friendships I have developed. If you bow hunt in
Michigan I would encourage you to join MBH.
MBH
continues to fight and maintain the seasons and those we
currently have. I would encourage you to join and give
something back to bow hunting and that is your support and
voice to help us to maintain the privileges that we
currently have.
Please feel
free to contact me with any concerns or ideas or questions
you may have.
